Teeing Area Analysis

Members,

As you’re aware, this year for OPCs we’ve gone away from Divisions and allow players to play from any set of tees. Most of the players I’ve heard from like this change.

For those of you that like to dive deeper into the results and perform some analysis, I’ve included an attachment that does just that.

The analysis reviews what tees were used for the 10 April OPC.  Flights were built strictly from handicap indexes. Course handicaps are based on your handicap index and which set of tees you play from.  The longer the course the higher your course handicap.

Flight 1 had 1 Green, 2 White/Green, 12 White.

Flight 2 had 13 White and 2 White/Gold.

Flight 3 had 9 White, 1 White/Gold, and 4 Gold.

Flight 4 had 7 White, 1 White/Gold, 5 Gold, and 2 Gold/Silver.

Flight 5 had 2 White, 12 Gold, and 1 Silver.

Flight 6 had 1 White/Gold, 12 Gold, and 2 Gold/Silver.

The “Rank in Flight” column is based on Net scores.   It’s only been one round, but we will be looking at this over the course of the season. Also, you might want to look at if you’re playing from the right set of tees for your skills and the enjoyment of the game.  Experiment during your casual rounds from different sets of tees to see if it makes a difference.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks.
