Letter From Mom – 4 Days Before D-Day
Not sure but this could have been the last letter my grandmother sent. Lots of family status as many of my uncles cousins were also in the war. Many seemed to be in the Navy. News seems to travel slow as letters must have been held up someplace. I would think most letters made it via ship as my grandmother mentions sending this letter by air mail which seems special.
I did enjoy the comments about my mother.. Reba… whose feet were sore and she was going to summer school. She was going to school and working in Minton’s Meat Market in Roanoke Virginia. My Grandmother mentions she was also working and I believe it was at the Woolworth store in downtown Roanoke.
