KIA Western Union Telegram

This telegram was mailed to my Grandmother on July 17th 1944. We assumed they were notified fairly quickly after he was KIA but it took almost six weeks for the telegram to arrive. Form the looks of the envelope it was mailed to my Grandmother and not hand delivered. My Grandmother was still writing letters well into July thinking he was somewhere in France. I’m not sure what to say….
